Investors in People: Silver grade for GEODIS in the Middle East

Some of the questions we get asked as HR professionals are “how can we measure the importance of leadership and employees development within companies?” or “how can we weigh up the efforts made by some organizations to make their staff happy in the workplace?”.

One of the answers is Investors in People, an international standard for people management that entails an internal assessment for companies and organizations.

Most GEODIS countries have already been accredited and the Middle East is one of them. The reassessment we did lately concerned the sixth generation of the IIP standard, evolved from the previous fifth generation to keep pace with modern practices. It is thus more demanding than the previous one, with higher expectations from us. We have considerably progressed in the last 3 years and this achievement is a great satisfaction for our teams!

The new framework of the 6th standard is based on the latest workplace trends, leading practices and employee conditions prescribed to create great teams. It focuses on three areas: leading, supporting and improving. Organisations are assessed using a performance model made up of 4 levels: Developed, Established, Advanced, High-Performing. In order to achieve the minimum level of accreditation against this framework, an organisation must meet all nine indicators at ‘Developed’ level

An external accreditation brings additional value

The dedication of our team members in the Middle East has made this success possible. Achieving a Silver accreditation from IIP is a recognition of the continuous progress we are making in the way we manage our business. For us, an IIP assessment is not like an exam we prepare to pass, it is a pathway to continuous progress.

Continuous improvement deserves permanent commitment 

This time around, it was GEODIS UAE and Qatar that were assessed and awarded the ‘Silver’ status. Our objective is to bring all our operating countries in the Middle East to the same high level.
